Questions to Settle Before Requesting Temporary Staff

Settle the core assignment details internally before asking a staffing partner to review your need.
Define the gap in concrete terms
Identify the role, number of people, unit or work setting, dates and exact shift times. Separate a single open shift from a recurring coverage need. If several roles are involved, list the headcount for each rather than sending one combined number that leaves the request open to interpretation.
Confirm the facility location
Include the facility name, city or ZIP and relevant arrival location. An organization with more than one building should specify which site needs support. Note the operational contact for that location, especially if the person submitting the request will not be available when the assignment would begin.
Describe assignment requirements
Gather the facility-specific experience, orientation and documentation expectations that apply to the requested role. Have the appropriate facility lead confirm them. Avoid copying an old request without checking whether its requirements still fit; a familiar role title alone may not describe the actual assignment sufficiently.
Name the decision maker
Identify who can approve the request, review applicable written terms and respond to proposed changes. Clarify whether the scheduler can make those decisions or needs another person's approval. A staffing partner needs a usable point of contact, not an assumption that someone else has already authorized the request.
Separate known details from questions
Send the details you have and label what still needs clarification. Do not present an estimate as a confirmed date or headcount. Keep resident information and clinical records out of public staffing forms; the initial request can describe operational needs without including private information about individuals.
Review the response as a next step
Med Plus can review a Pennsylvania staffing request using the supplied contact information. A receipt is not confirmation of coverage. Keep the request status separate from assignment confirmation, and resolve outstanding details with the coordinator before updating internal schedules as though the requested support is secured.
